He stated so in an interview he gave many, many years ago. The female lead
was always the same personality type, and always red headed or with
red/auburn hair. Even Mama Maureen was considered to have been molded on
Jeanie, with the same outlooks regarding sexual mores of the time, etc. I
can't remember if she was that much younger than him, but the lead female
always seemed to be. In contrast, his first wife was a disasterous marriage
in which he felt she was selfish. It was asked if he molded the 1st wife in
Farnham's Freehold on her, but his response was something cryptic like he
said he couldn't reply to that for good reason; a slander suit.....
