We have no specifically fundraising events, so we don't consider feasts any
different from our other events. And we attempt to set our fees so that we
will make some profit. This allows us to get other things, like loaner
armor parts to train new fighters, baronial regalia, etc, and to cover
times when the two-day camping event over Labor Day weekend got snowed out
and we had to scramble for an indoor site two days before the event (and
couldn't get our fees back for the camping area, either). Whatever the
group decides to spent its money on. We don't do fancy feasts very often,
and usually lose money on them because we don't want to charge too much.

Food costs a lot more up here. I read your posts where you can keep food
costs of feasts down to $4-$6 a person and just laugh: ain't no way up
here. Coronet events, with 75-100 in attendance routinely have a food
budget of $800-$1000 for Saturday brunch, Saturday feast, and Sunday
continental breakfast (and leftovers). Most of which is for the feast
itself.

We seldom do onboard and offboard, except at coronets. When we do a feast
at the baronial level -- that is the event's focus. Anyone who doesn't want
to eat, doesn't to come. Most of our events are potluck, BOYB and snacks.
We're cheap (G).

Inter-kingdom anthropology is *so* interesting.
