The best way I have found to open a coconut is to
start by popping the little "eyes" out with a
screwdriver and drain the liquid. Then, score it
along the circumference with a knife. Then take the
screwdriver again, place it in a portion of the score
mark, and give it a good whollop with a hammer. Or,
use a saw....

The liquid inside a coconut is *not* coconut milk.
Coconut milk is made by taking grated fresh coconut
and water and blending them together. the resulting
liquid is then strained, and the pulp is discarded.
For commercial coconut milk, sugar is often added for
sweetness, as well as artificial thickeners.
