Well, there are some thriving SCA groups there (I'm sure Margaret and
Bear would testify to that...).

I am wondering if it's related though- there's apparently a 'runestone'
there in Nebraska, not far from the University. Much has been made of
it, including an assertion that Leif Erickson's gang (or someone like
that) made it that far inland. They finally determined (last year I
think) that a grad student in English did it sometime in the 50's- and a
couple of folks on the ANSAX list think they know who but I can't
remember. It was seen as a jolly good April Fools'-type joke...

Ok- It might be funny to an Anglo-Saxonist...
