SC - earning awards

No kidding....Frankly, I enjoy discussions like this--they go a long,
long way towards reminding me that there's a whole lota stuff out there
I know nothing about, experiences I haven't had, points of view I've
never considered, etc.  My physical limitations have always been pretty
temporary, except for my eyesight (I'm terribly, terribly nearsighted),
but then, when I was a kid, and hating getting called all those names
bullies call kids with glasses, who woulda figured my nearsightedness
would come in so handy for the very fine needlework I eventually got my
Laurel for? Turns out that most folks can't see what I can, and so what
I once thought of as a disability, isn't.  I'm sure Their Majesties were
looking at the quality of my work and my demeanor, etc., and not my
physical attributes (or lack of same) when They made me a Peer.
