I agree totally...I am 5'2"/250lbs and have a genetic condition that causes
hypothyroidism. I have to snack frequently (on cheese & crackers and fruit
most often) to keep my metabolism functioning and am always getting comments
about how I should "be more concerned about my weight" and nasty looks from
the girls in my office who weight 110 and are always dieting because I eat
what they WISH they could eat.

I get snide comments from some people because I happen to LIKE meat, and
others because I also like my veggies.

I can't make anyone else happy with my diet...so all I can do is meet my own
nutritional requirements and taste preferences and feed my family good meals
that we can afford.

I get really tired of people who insist they know better than me what is
best for ME. I am an adult and can make my own rational decisions without
anyone nagging at me to change my habits.

On the food note: I have a very OLD baklava recipe that I got from a
college friend (an exchange student from Athens) that her family has passed
down for a couple hundred years at least....I wish I could document it! One
big difference I've noticed between it and a lot of other recipes is the
ingrediants....pastry, nuts, honey, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and orange
peel....that's it. I like it a lot better than most baklavas I've tried.
If anyone wants it, I'll post it even though it's not documentable.
