[Sca-cooks] comfort foods

When I do Thanksgiving for friends at my house, each person gets a "family
favorite" and a friend's is (brace yourself) one drained can of mixed fruit
in a tub of Cool Whip with mini marshmallows added. Just typing it makes my
teeth hurt.

She assures me that with her family, this concoction is on the table at the
meal, not as a dessert. I can't bring myself to eat more than a teaspoon of
it. I think it's the marshmallows that push it over the edge.

So Sunshine Salad counts as health food by comparison.

Oh, and still discussing other people's comfort foods, we tried the Hash
Brown Hotdish last night, thank you very much for the recipe. The men in the
house adored it, but I think I'm going to tinker with it a bit. *Everything*
is better with a little garlic. And maybe some diced jalapenos. Hmmm.
