And here 'tis, the long awaited wet-bottom shoofly pie recipe, courtesy of
my Pennsylvanian grandmother. Mind you, this is transcribed verbatim from
what I have on the recipe card. Preserving the feel of it and all. ;-)

2c flour
4 T shortening
1 1/2 c brown sugar
1/4 t salt

Mix as for crumbs, save 2 cups for tops of pies. To remainder of crumbs
add

2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c King syrup + 1/2 c Bre'r Rabbit
1 1/2 c hot water
1/4 t salt

Mix well. Dissolve 2 t soda in 1/2 c hot water and add. Divide into 2
pies. Put crumbs on top. 10 min at 425F, 30 min at 350 or until done.
