Olwen, I don't mean to contradict you, but.....

Normally, when a Court Baronetcy is give in Atlantia, the award will be given
with the statement, "...and We grant you the right to bear..." If this
statement is there, then the baronetcy is done with a grant of arms. However,
if that statement is missing, only the baronetcy is given. Occasionally, a
Grant is given without the Court Baronetcy...usually to those who have served
as Great Officers of State. A CB with a GoA and a GoA rank the same in the
Order of Precedence and both outrank a Court Baron without GoA. When a landed
Baron is invested, the GoA is automatic. I do know that this varies from
Kingdom to Kingdom......

Hope this helps.....

Adamantius, not a heraldry or protocol geek

There actually are several Grant of Arms given in Atlantia on a regular
basis. They actually hold a higher rank than Court Baron according to our
Principal Tition Herald. I know one poor fellow that really really wants to
"get a hat" and in his mad rush to accumulate "stuff" he managed somehow to
get his arms awarded as a grant with his eye on the Court Baron (and the
Hat) as his next prize. Cripes, it DOES pay to do your homework before
going to class!

On the food subject...I would like to thank everyone who has given us
suggestions for 13th century. I have been passing along the suggestions to
others in our Guild. If anyone has any more ideas, please feel free to jot
them down.
Olwen
