[Sca-cooks] For the folks in Lochac

I'm addressing this to the folks in Lochac. I appologize to the rest
of this list for taking up the bandwidth, but I don't know how to get
on the Lochac list and I know there are a number of folks from Lochac
on this list.

After I sent a copy of my monthly Florilegium article to the Lochac
list early in December, I got this reply from the Lochac list
administrator.

While I understand his concerns about spam mail, as sometimes half my
mail can be spam, the alternatives that he suggests are not workable
for me. I don't think handling one message from me per month is
overwork since he is the one who set up the list as a moderated one.
However, that is certainly within his perogative.

I know that a number of folks in Lochac have been supportive of the
Florilegium and have enjoyed getting the monthly article detailing
what is new. I would hate to have to remove Lochac from the kingdoms
and principalities that I send my monthly article to. However, I
certainly don't want to try to post my article to anywhere it is not
wanted. If that is the case here, please let me know and I'll drop
this.

Solution "a" below is not, I feel, a good one as it requires making
a special article/message just for the Lochac list. I have a dozen or
more kingdom lists to deal with. Also, part of my hope of sending the
monthly article to the lists is that folks will see something they
are interested in, and investigate it further. Sending a message
with just a link to the article elsewhere defeats this. In addition,
I already put out a special version of the monthly article modified
for use on webpages and I've considered dropping that one because
of the extra work involved.

Solution "b" isn't feasible because I am dealing with, as mentioned
above, a large number of lists. While staying on the Lochac list might
be nice, I can barely keep up with SCA-Cooks, my kingdom list and a
few others. I can't do this for the half dozen or more lists that are
being closed to non-subscribers.

What I would like to do, as I have done for several other lists, is
to line up a deputy and possibly a backup for this person, who I
would send the monthly article to and then have them forward it on
to the Lochac list.

Please feel free to forward this to the Lochac list if you feel it
should be posted there. The stuff I've quoted from Conrad came by
private email, but I'd rather not take the chance of garbling things
if I paraphrase it.

Thanks,
Stefan
