I'm sure you've had bad experiences, but my own really haven't been bad at all. Admittedly, it was in restaurants, and they kinda resembled hush puppies, but a bit lighter and moister. As I recall they were dusted with powdered sugar and served with applesauce. Really, not bad at all. Could this be "after-a-week-of-eating-nothing-but-matzoh-I'm-happy-if-I-never-see-the-stuff-again" mode?
