I know you live in America.

How do you pronounce "Paris" in general conversation? Is you say 
"Paris" with a final "s" you are wrong according to your criteria.

How do you pronounce the word which is the capital of Russia? If you 
say something like "Moss-cow" you are wrong according to your 
criteria.

How to you pronounce the names of just about every city in Italy? If 
you say things like "Rome" and "Venice" you are wrong etc.

How do you say the name of a country in East Asia composed of several 
islands? If you say "Japan" you are wrong etc.

How do you say the name of the largest and most populous nation on 
earth in East Asia? If you say "China" you are wrong etc.

Do you expect the French (for example) to pronounce borrowed words - 
and they do exist in the French language - just the way they are 
pronounced in their original languages? I doubt it. And frankly, i 
have no problem with the French pronouncing borrowed words in a 
French manner. For example, "chewing gum" is pronounced "shwang gum".

And just how has the US butchered the English language anymore than 
native speakers of this language in quite a few other countries? 
Hell, look at all the ways the ENGLISH use and pronounce English. 
There isn't just one single, right, true, and only way, not even in 
England.

Do you have a regional American accent? What is the right way to 
pronounce English?
