If they are made, they are not sold at the local 'Sur La Table' franchise.
I wasn't up for hunting all over. I did find a version better than the
thermometer in a test tube style. Those have such tiny numbers! The one I
bought is in a flat metal frame with great big numbers to read. It looks
like the kind of thermometer you hang outside. Ridiculous price: $16.00.
It was the only candy temp. thermometer they had.
My daughter has made two batches of fudge, boxing up the perfectly shaped
center pieces for the love of her life, and boxing up the
not-perfectly-square edge pieces for us. Which was pointless as we have
eaten it up already. My husband came in to get some and said "oh, is it
Jon's birthday tomorrow?" Hmmm, can't decide if he was being too obviously
clueless, or really clueless. Tomorrow will tell.
As for what to do with my failed fudge, the other daughter suggests making
streusal coffee cake and using the chocolate sugar stuff for the topping.
So that is breakfast tomorrow.
