2) How to tactfully tell the FOC his menu is too bland/common? This might be
a good time to have someone else tell him -- or use the flattering approach
of so-and-so the muckety muck of muck (make it a real person who is coming
and you can talk to about this first) loves _food X_ and heard you made a
fabulous version -- flattery can accomplish a lot so can sending to Stephen's
(msp?) florigulium -- maybe your cook just needs some sources to see what
would work on a dayboard --- although sometimes people like the 'common'
because they know it -- maybe if he sees the sources/menus posted there he'll
spice it up some.

of Beef Barley Stew, bread, cheese and honey butter. My first thought
was... how boring! I suggested he add some condiments and fruit, but he
didn't like that idea because he thought it was too OOP.

I have two questions: 1) Suggestions for a more interesting, yet easy to do

dayboard? and 2) How to tactfully tell the FOC his menu is too bland/common?

I am usually very good with words, but this is sort of a case where if I
don't come right out and say, "it's boring" he may not get the hint.

Thanks!
