People just love to play with their food!  I think  serving a few sauces, 
with multiple plain meats and some good bread is just so useful for 
introducing people to period food.  They play around mixing and dipping, 
leaving the table happy.  They also think themselves very clever to have 
improved on feast that way.  Maybe they even want to have the recipes, or 
find some more. . .

Say, Stefan, do you have a file dedicated to sauces and what they are 
supposed to go with?  If not, that sounds like a good article for someone to 
write.
