I have arranged through Master Erik to reserve a class tent for the
SCA-Cooks pot luck on Thrusday at 6pm.

He has not told me the tent, but since for the last few years they
have been adjacent, I don't think this is a big concern. I will
give it in later messages if I get it.

Here is the description that I have given him.
- ------------
SCA-Cooks maillist pot-luck

This is a chance for those on the SCA-Cooks mail list to get together
and see those folks that they may have talked to online but never
met in person. The participants are encouraged to bring a dish of
food to share. While period food is preferred it is not required.

Folks not on the list but interested in cooking period food, whether
for feasts or in smaller quantities are also invited.
- ------------

Since both this and my class request have missed the deadline for getting
into the Gulf Wars booklet, please feel free to spread this to those
who might be interested. Hopefully both of these will be up on the
Gulf Wars web page, soon.

It looks like I will be teaching my pewter casting class twice, once
on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 11am and the second time on
Thursday and Friday mornings, also at 11am, although I've requested that
we move the last set to 1pm to allow any folks who can't make morning
classes to attend a class if they wished.

Here is the announcement for this class. Again, feel free to send
this to others who might be interested.
- ------------------
Hands-on Pewter Casting class

This is a beginning class teaching the period method of carving
soapstone molds to cast pewter items such as jewelry, buttons,
pilgrim/site tokens and belt items.

This class will be taught in two sessions. In the first you will
start carving your mold, which you can then take back to camp
to finish. The second session we will cast items using the
molds.

Please bring any small tools such as scribes, screwdrivers,
nails, files, dental tools or gouges that you might have for use
in carving your soapstone.

I will provide the soapstone, sandpaper, pewter and some other
items for your use. There will be a $3 class fee to help defray
the cost of this class.

Class limit: 15

For some background info on this topic, check the casting-msg,
pewter-msg and the soapstone-msg files in my Florilegium files
