Ras-- that would be true of organic, free-range chickens, kept in the
presence of a rooster.
However, I was under the impression that factory or 'battery'(?) raised
chickens were never granted the services of a rooster, thus making their
eggs, however inhumanely obtained, unfertilized. I seem to recall that
that is what I learned in 4-H and from Lancaster county Amish egg farms.
