SC - feasts during Lent

Hello the List!

I'm sure I remember somewhere (Elisabeth Ayrton?  will look) references to 
at least one period coronation in Lent.  Of course, you can't really wait 6 
weeks for a king if you want to have a healthy country at the end of it...  
And I was married in Lent (on a Sunday!) which horrified my father (the 
priest), but it was the only day available, as he had to move to Taiwan 3 
days later.  Things do happen, and you can't always wait until after Easter. 
  There is, of course, also the precedent of Mothering Sunday or (I forget 
what it's called) the mini carnival that some Belgians have because they 
can't cope with 40-odd days of self-denial.
