SC - re-hash of my breakfast notes plus recipe

Greetings,
I'm back from Chicago, land of bitter cold and tall snows,
and am back on the list. 

Just in case someone's interested ....
I was in a regular grocery store and saw star anise.  It's
made by Morton and .... um, something with a B, like Basset
or something.  That's the first time I've seen it available
in a regular store, not a speciality market. It was at King
Sooper's.
