I clean mine every 7 to 10 days. The first month I was married I told my 
husband not to eat some left over lasagna...he did anyway and we spent the 
night in the ER. It shook me to the core and since then I've been totally 
compulsive.  He now asks "is this good to eat?"  So, I would say the catsup 
and mustard are the oldest things in the fridge right now. Now, in my 
cupboards...I found a box of yeast that had a expire date of three years ago, 
a dusty box of Swiss Miss, and pushed way in the back where  almost empty 
containers of spices/herbs that I bought when I was first married....1992 and 
are old bottles of olive oil supposed to glow? <s>
