SC - rain in the sanoran desert

I saw a show on one of the learning channels or PBS
that said the average for the AZ desert is 16 inches a
year, more than any other desert in the world. And
having the evenyt in the summer would just make it in
the middle of "monsoon" season. (where it rains just
enough to really make everything a sauna, almost
everyday)And who wants to fight or do anything else in
120 degree temps?

Yes, but the article said the site gets nine inches of
rain in an 
entire
year. There are 52 weeks in the year so, an average of
1/5 of an inch
per week.
