For those trying the low carbohydrate diets I have a few other
warnings.
Carbohydrates contain fibre and this fibre cleasning our guts is one
of the things that prevents many of the gut cancers from occuring. It
is also the buffering effect of these fibres that reduces the unwanted
effects of hormones and in fact many of the drugs that we take.
By using this sort of diet you are putting your health at risk and the
risks may not even be noticed for many years to come. They are unsafe,
few of them have been tested over long periods of times.
Please be careful of any diet that reduces one of the food groups. We
have variety in our food because we need it to stay healthy.
If you want to loose weight you can't really go past the idea of
moderation in all things and the need for both food and excercise.
