The menu is titled "tentative" stating things like sales/ availability
of seasonal produce.
A wave of the hand, saying bread & butter is implied . . . .
And if the party that "appproves" menus doesn't like your suggestions,
(and proposed compromises aren't to your liking) then you could just bow
out gracefully thanking them for their time.
There's also the "opps I left it at home" underhanded passive
aggressive position. . . .
