SC - Honey (& other) butters

Hello all

I think honey butter is a Ren thing, as well as an SCA thing. I've
had it at almost every event I've ever been to, in forms ranging from
an excellent spread to barely blended chunks of cold butter and liquid
honey.
I must, though, tell you of a tasty new creation.
I made the Cider Sauce to go with the ham my Mom made for Christmas.
It came out way thick, and rather than putting it with the ham, it
ended up on hot rolls. My s-i-l thought it tasted like baked apples.
When I got home, I put it aside, and drizzled it on english muffins
for breakfast. Then the 'Creation Fairy' appeared and sprinkled my
brain with pixie spice. Since it WAS so thick, and so hard to spoon
out without spinning little sticky threads everywhere, why not blend it
with butter ? In the words of my lord "D@#* this is good stuff !".
If you've got any left over cider sauce, and it's as thick as mine
was, try it. It might be a nice change at feast, too, and a surprise
for those expecting honey. I'll be taking some next weekend to Birka,
for our lunch, and I hope to share it with friends.
