SC - Northkeep's Winterkingdom

Stefan -

Pierogies, as I have eaten them,, have more of a pasta dough. The ones I've
had were potato and cheese filled, you boiled them for a couple of minutes
then fried them in butter with onions. I know the they have been stuffed
with cabbage as well but I can't speak for periodness (except for the
potatos, of course). The piroshki were in a bread dough and baked with a
ground meat and chopped hard boiled egg filling. Again, I'm not sure how
much of the Domostroi is period but I think there have been some discussions
about it on the list in the past.

Okay, what is the differance between a pierogie and a piroshki?

Did anyone find any definative evidence that these were period? Period
recipes would be even better, but I doubt we have that.

Now that I've gotten my pierogie cutters (Thanks, Olwen!) I'll have to
try some.
