Greetings, AEthelmearc cooks on this list!

(I am posting this to numerous lists and gentles throughout AEthelmearc, so
I apologize in advance to those who receive duplicates of this message.)

The idea of a kingdom cooks guild has been raised on several occasions over
the years by various gentles... but, as of yet, has never born fruit.

By the kind indulgence of Their Majesties Morguhn and Meirwen, a forum for
discussion on the creation of an AEthelmearc Cooks Guild will begin next
week on the SCA-AEthelmearc-Cooks list.

All gentles interested in Medieval and Renaissance food and beverages,
cooking, baking, research, recipe redaction, butlering, kitchen management,
feast hall set-up, entering A&S competitions, and similar subjects are
invited to join the discussion on that list and share their ideas. Any
gentles who have plans in progress for such a guild -- or who have pursued
such plans in the past -- are especially urged to join this group effort.

So as to avoid gentles joining the discussion late, the forum will not begin
formally until Friday, July 20.

We will first gather a list of all the pertinent topics which gentles wish
to discuss for the creation of a guild within a reasonable period of time,
and then we will progress through each thread one at a time... starting with
what gentles believe is the purpose of a kingdom cooks guild and how it can
best become a resource to cooks in AEthelmearc.

To join the group, please go to http://groups.yahoo.com/ and join
