Hi All,
My recipe is from "Recipes of old England" and is as follows

Half and pound of flour
Quarter of a pound of sugar
Quarter of a pound of currents
Quarter of a pound of butter
half a teaspoon of carbonate of soda
Mix all, then add 2 large eggs. Bake a quarter of an hour in a slow oven
