If anyone is interested in getting a Potje for Pennsic:

I have a couple of these South African Potje in stock at the moment and would be glad to deliver them to your encampment at Pennsic (no shipping!). We're not merchanting this time around at Pennsic but can deliver to your camp.

We also sell the tripod/spit set up, hubby makes those. The five gallon pot is $119.00 with lid, and I have a 3-gallon one that has been repaired (received with a crack which was expertly repaired). That one is discounted to $70.00, and it's hard to find the repair area--really a nice pot. I may be able to get more of either size in time for Pennsic Delivery, if anyone is interested.

Lady Jehanne: Thanks for the site! We were talking about pots like these on the
Caid list not long ago. Some wag called them "missionary pots." I'm going to
have to get one, even though the shipping costs more than the item itself. Sigh.

This cooking method sounds much like how I make lasagna at camping events; I
have a Dutch Oven that is oval-shaped, I layer the pasta, sauce, cheese etc. then
put coals under and over, then leave it strictly alone for a couple or three
hours. No touchee, no peekee.
