on the rolling of the sweet dates in salt...

is it possible that its a transcription/translation error?

if the word is literally "to roll in seasoning" rather than "salt" (while
"salt" might be the more common useage of the original latin), it suddenly
opens the world up to all kinds of possibilities.


of course, dont forget to witness the Vehling translation (ack patooie!) of
the same work, where the word "piper" is translated by him to mean
"seasoning" because he didnt think there was anyone who would sprinkle
their custard with black pepper (its actually really good that way). A
simple word choice can totally change the meaning! it could go either way.
Someone could check the original latin (in a couple different versions to
make sure its not a PERIOD transcription error :)).
