But that is not usually a big problem for me. I live in Austin,
not Houston. It is not as humid here.

Also, you mentioned usually being a degree cooler than Plano/Dallas.

Here, 200 miles south of Plano/Dallas it is usually two or three
degrees *cooler* than Dallas in the summer and at least that much
warmer in the winter.

That first Gulf Wars, which was held in June, was an eye-opener
for many folks. Quite hot and very humid as Lumberton, Mississippi
is fairly close to the Gulf Coast. The first battle that year
was a wood's battle. The score was basically: Ansteorra - 0,
Trimaris - 0, Woods - 1. I, and many others, decided that was enough
and stopped our combat activity for the event after that battle.

The fact that the two large armies never found each other and that
the Ansteorrans marched for what seemed like miles, most of the time
well outside the almost unmarked battle boundaries, through rough
brush and up and down over hills didn't help either. Plus the fact
that they wouldn't allow waterbearers or chirugeons into the area,
also had an impact.

Oh well. For more details, see the GW-history-msg file in you all
know where. :-)
