SC - earth quake

Ximena is pretty lucky (I think it must be due to how deep the center was),
because according to everything I've found, the epicenter was 11 miles
northeast of Olympia (thirty something southwest of Seattle). Which puts it
oh, probably about 3 miles from Lacey if my memory from going to college
there for two years serves me correctly. By the way, Ximena, how did Saint
Martin's fare??? (I had a momentary scary thought last night of bricks
falling down as all the kids walked between classes--not exactly a building
I'd want to be in during an earthquake). But I guess the 30 miles down
helps the people who are almost on top of it??

I actually saw on the news last night that they're saying you're supposed to
stand in the doorway anymore because doors move, crawl under a desk or
something instead. As if we don't have plenty of doorways without doors in
them. I'm sure not crawling under a partical board desk that has a 50 lb.
monitor on it and isn't big enough for me to get completely under anyway;
I'd rather fight the moving door.

Shaking was East-West? Wow, I never really thought of it, but that was the
direction the waves were going through my office. HEE HEE All my cupboards
and bookshelves are north-sound too.

Anne-Marie, what kind of lab do you work in? (curiousity hit as I'm a
computer person for a medical lab here in Portland).

Officially, they think it was a 6.8, centered about 20 miles south of here
