Often times the study of religious/social habits is the study of food habits. 
The use of rose water (magical cleansing ) in the middle east or the absense 
of cow in the diet of Hindus comes to mind. If the findings are accurate, I 
would tend to file this information as 'Holiday' meals of ancient Britons. :-)
