If you get into a Catholic Church, and aren't Catholic, you can do what
my daughter-in-law's father taught me to do at their wedding. He's an
ordained Deacon and did the ceremony and assisted at the Mass. When I
got opposite the Deacon or Priest, I crossed my arms in front of my
chest, hands to shoulders, and said "A Blessing, please, Father." And
got a nice blessing--can't have too many--and didn't offend the Catholics
but managed to show acceptance for my nice, new daughter-in-law. All
worked out very well.

The Episcopalians aren't quite so strict--my step-brother was an ordained
Episcopalian Deacon (very fractured family, we've got!) and gave my
communion himself. Pretty special moment when little brother makes good!

Take all the prayers, blessings, and good wishes that come your way, my
friends, from whatever religion. The Creator will sort it all out.

Regards,

Allison
