A couple of tool questions.

ISTR a mention long, long ago that there was somewhere a picture of
something that appeared to be a mandoline. Anyone who remember better or
otherwise?

Every now and then the recipies call for passing something through a
sieve. How different would then end result be with one of the food mills
(of the type shown at
http://www.bigtray.com/productdetails.asp!sku.MOUVV6560,catid.18960.html)?

 trying to either justify some new toy^Wtools or talk himself out of
spending money[1]


[1] I _liked_ the feel of the heavy duty stainless steel mandoline the
Pro Shop had, even if the Japanese palsic based one for approximately
half the price is more reasonable for hobby use.
