As I mentioned in an earlier message, my egg dyeing file is incomplete.
However, you just reminded me of this file in the FOOD section:
p-fd-coloring-msg (27K) 10/27/00    Period food colorings.

I'm not sure which of these will adhere to egg shells but perhaps this
will give you a starting place of various period food dyes. Two that
I can think of are blood (for black) and grape juice(red?).
