I'm confused by this. While I can see why someone's mundane religion might
forbid them to participate in specific aspects of another culture's
religion or engage in certain behaviors (pork eating, for instance), I'm
not sure why, in the case of Lent, this would enough a significant factor
to preclude attempts at re-creation of period meals of the time. I
certainly know some people who claim that their religion requires them to
eat meat, but I thought they were kidding. 

Is it really true that eating meals attempting to portray those served
during a certain season of the year would be so offensive to one's
religion simply because their construction follows a set of rules from
another religion?
