Lars said the docs in Iran (and other docs since then) told them just to =
sift out the bugs.

My foster mother used to bake the flour (at low temperature) and sift it =
if we found anything.  (We often got bags of flour from welfare =
commodities; I imagine the situation is similar to (though not the same =
as) the situation in American Coops in the middle east.  I thought about =
sifting the farina, but for half a box at $3.00 a box I decided it was =
too icky to deal with.

I want to clarify about looking for granules stuck together as though =
they were damp -- what will happen is a dozen grains or so will get =
stuck together in little pellets.  These little pellets actually =
surround a larvae, so if you sift out the pellets, you get rid of the =
larvae. =20

For the sake of your _psyche_ (though not for any other reason) you may =
want to sterilize your sifter afterwards.  (If you're going to do this, =
I would recommend using a seive rather than a sifter.  They're easier to =
clean.  If you run your sifter through the dishwasher (and if it's all =
metal) you can put it in a warm oven for a short time to thoroughly dry =
it.
