Rambam is a character in Kinky Friedman's murder mysteries, one of the 
infamous Greenwich Village Irregulars, along with Ratso Sloman, McGovern, 
and the cat, among others.  The books are worth a read, particularly 
Armadilloes and Old Lace. (and Road Kill, and Elvis, Jesus and Coca-Cola...)
