Black olives-- Sam's club-- big can $5.00 max.  Make sure when you 
serve them (or any big ticket item for 'sampling' you don't put it 
all out at once!--but I'm sure we'll all know it, although I usually 
need reminding ;-)   -----)

  got a gallon of the most delicious dill pickles from Wal-mart for 
somewhere between $2.50 and $3.75.  They were huge whole pickles and 
tasted wonderful.  I think the brand was something like Moby Dick 
they were a little soft but the taste was just wonderful!
