In a previous  job I used to help train wild kittens to live with people.
This sounds stupid but it really works.
learn to hiss like mum.
kittens are warned by their mother that if they carry on like that they will
be belted with a good hiss/spit.
try it..then carry out the threat and bite her ear , enough so she knows but
not enough to hurt.
just remember that the thrumming is her way of telling you she loves
you...they do it against their mother when they want /need fussing, food
etc.
I trained mine to thrum on the puillow or cushion next to me he thrummed and
I kept my legs.
