Meliora why don't you try the recipe I posted.  I think you will find a vast 
difference from your trial with Islinglasse.  The way we make it with the 
recipe I posted causes no seperation of the milk, no graininess and the 
white stays white unless you colour it.  We even use jello jiggler molds and 
other such to mold it out.  Next time we make some of these I shall post 
pictures.  Anyway, it does stand up much better than jello.
