After the period Platina, I thought I would not see a lot more on
Ebay of real interest for a while. Wrong. There is an auction on
the new Ebay Live (item 582868808) for 10 very impressive old
herbals. These are listed as "early Christian" herbalists. Here is the
description. The opening bid is $500. Maybe interested list
members could club up if they were interested in different volumes.

clasps. * Junius, Franciscus. {Grammatica Hebraeae Linguae....}

* Michaelis, Joannes Henricius. {Bruendlicher Unterricht von
den Accentibus Prosaicis und Metricis, oder Hebraeischen
Distinctionibus....} 1711. Folding table. 8vo. Half calf over
marbled boards. All in generally good condition, some with
infrequent light library stamp, bindings show some wear and
darkening, but generally sound. Sold w.a.f.|""In the sixteenth
century, the new critical methods of Renaissance scholarship
and the energy of the Protestant Reformation both sought once
again to recover the original sense of the Old Testament.
The period, in turn, burgeoned with significant works by
Christian scholars and increasing intellectual contact between
Christians and Jews."" Langenberg. {Of Many Generations.}

I might bid, but I haven't decided yet.
