I was the one who posted the original question.  The recipe in
question calls for lard, which is simmered with rosewater, cloves,
and a quarter of an apple, until the rosewater is fully evaporated.
The scented lard is then strained, and several kinds of oils, plus
wax, are added to it.  I have not yet tried this recipe, but I expect
that the finished product would have to consistency of cold cream.
