Hey, there's still the kitchen counter.  Or eating while standing over
the kitchen sink.  Or sitting crosslegged on the floor with your plate
on your lap.  Easier to do without a dog, of course.  Fending off cats
is easy.  But, food less than 3 feet from the floor is *obviously* meant
for the dog...
