Just a note to thank everyone for their input on period soap-making. I'd like to experiment primarily with tallow-based soaps and olive oil-based soaps (castile soaps), which are most likely to be period, or at least, periodoid. Maybe if I ever get any good at this, I can send out little soap care packages to folks as thank-yous. --Maire
