For those cooks who are interested in having knives made to their
specifications, or reproductions of SCA period knives, please
contact my
husband at dan at greenmanforge.com, or come to his class at CooksCon
2.

As the proud owner of one of Dan's cook's knives, I can wholeheartedly
recommend his work - the knife fits anyone's hand, big, medium, small or
really small (like me), the balance is beautiful, and the blade is razor
sharp - as a quarter of my finger nail found out when I sliced it completely
off (don't worry MD, I didn't draw blood, it was just weird and
uncomfortable for a couple of days) and overall the knife is a real pleasure
to use.
Not only that, but it's a lovely period reproduction, with the tang going
all the way through the wooden handle to the end to a 'stud' in the metal
endplate, and the blade being one of those big diagonal angle tips.
Needless to say, I have threatened to use it on anyone other than my Laurel
who attempts to use it <evil smile>.
No, Mary Denise isn't paying me to say this, I'm just a very very happy
cook. So, have I rhapsodised enough? <smile> Go buy one of Dan's knives.
You know you deserve it.
Ciao
Lucrezia
