We're coming up on fresh citron season. There are several varieties
available in Berkeley Calif.

One is Buddha's Hand - it's a kind of citron the top of which has
parts of its skin extending upward so that they look like fingers.
They smell absolutely amazingly fabulously marvelous. Possibly
available in Asian markets elsewhere

Anyone in the San Francisco Bay area should check out The Berkeley
Bowl Market on Shattuck Ave. a couple blocks north of the
intersection of Shattuck with Ashby Ave.

For Jews, the etrog is a citron which is waved at Sukkot which will
be in a few weeks. Any place with a significant Jewish community
should have fresh citrons available, although they're probably more
expensive than the average citron as they're supposed to have the
stem attached...

La'Shannah Tova - Happy New Year - to everyone. Dip an apple slice in
honey for hopes of a sweet new year.

I really detest the commercially candied fruit i've had in America.
How hard is it to make one's own?

Anahita
still modifying the German Boar's Hunt Feast some more...
Trying to make LESS food.
