Yes.  Each flower should be picked (they smell wonderful by the way) and the
saffron, which is not the stamin, should be removed.  By plucking the flower
the plant will be encouraged to reproduce (same theory as the rose or most
other plants).  The bloom season is only about two weeks so, yah, you work
hard for two weeks.  They can be grown in containers too.
