In case anyone else missed it, here it is again--

While browsing through another of those British sugarcraft
magazines at the Books to Cooks bookstore in Vancouver, I came across
mention of the following exhibition. There are 82 images that are online
at the museum's website, so everyone can look and drool, even if we
can't fly over in person.

Royal Sugar Sculpture
Saturday 1st June until Sunday 22nd September

  Historical and Contemporary. Examples of 16th, 17th and 18th century
sugarpaste sculpture and table settings. Using a unique set of moulds by
Ivan Day and Peter Brears, that are being bought by the Museum, there is
a recreation of an early nineteenth century ceremonial table setting.
The very best of modern sugarcraft is also on display.

of Sugar for Elizabeth I
Sugar models of St. Pauls Cathedral appear to have become a Tudor
tradition. In 1562, the surveyor of the cathedral presented Queen
Elizabeth with a four-foot high example. By Queen Elizabeth's reign,
elaborate sugar work and conceits tended to appear after the meal had
been consumed and accompanied with a host of other sweet foods.
