Actually, Brooklyn Heights (location of Sahadi Importers, for
example) is a more or less happenin' place, baby.

I would say it's about a ten-minute subway ride from the PATH train.
Maybe less on a good day. Actually, I'm not entirely certain the PATH
doesn't go directly there...

And you can actually spend (although I admit it helps to be an
adventurous cook) a day touring the little shops, such as the
aforementioned Sahadi's, the Damascus Bakery, and the little dark
holes-in-the-wall with squiggly writing on signs in the windows...
